Ocean-Inspired Natural Soap Making Journey

My love for the ocean is where this began.

Years ago, I started making all-natural seaweed soap in small batches, inspired by the waters near home. What started as curiosity quickly became something deeper — a daily ritual I truly care about.

Every bar I create reflects that connection.

The Power of Ocean Ingredients

Seaweed, kelp, and Irish moss are naturally rich in:

  • Vitamins

  • Minerals

  • Amino acids

  • Enzymes

They contain natural collagen-supporting compounds that leave skin soft to the touch.

Minerals help support the skin’s natural glow, while amino acids like threonine help improve tone and resilience.

The result?

Skin that feels smooth, balanced, and comfortably hydrated.

More Than Just Soap

Ocean botanicals are known to:

Kelp is traditionally valued for supporting metabolic balance, while antioxidant-rich seaweed helps protect the skin from environmental stress.

Even better — the seaweed used in my soaps is harvested locally from the waters of Mahone Bay. It’s important to me that what goes into each bar feels honest and close to home.

Supporting Local

My store also carries creations from talented artisans across Nova Scotia. I believe in buying local and supporting the hands that make beautiful things.

You may not be able to buy happiness —but supporting local comes pretty close.

My Trip to the Dead Sea

I found my happy place.

The Dead Sea is unlike anywhere else. The water is dense with minerals and salt — so rich that once you step in, your body simply floats. It’s quiet. Weightless. Completely calming.

On my first visit, I stood on a private beach where salt crystals formed naturally along the shoreline. You could cover yourself in mineral-rich mud straight from the sea. The landscape shimmered with salt formations — raw, untouched, breathtaking.

Later, I visited a more commercial area. The beach was shaped differently, and the mud was packaged and prepared. It was still beautiful — but I’ll always remember the untouched shoreline, where the minerals met the water in their most natural form.

That experience deepened my appreciation for mineral-based skincare and the quiet strength of ocean ingredients.
